Before the Laugh — Eastern Blue-winged Kookaburra, Pastel pencil on Pastelmat
Eastern Blue-winged Kookaburra

Before the Laugh

Sold

Before the Laugh captures a moment of stillness just before the familiar call breaks the silence. In this close-up portrait, the kookaburra meets the viewer's gaze with an unwavering intensity — calm, watchful and quietly commanding. This is not the bird we know for its laughter, but the presence that exists in the pause before it. Before the Laugh is a reminder that even the most familiar creatures hold depth, mystery and quiet authority when we take the time to truly look.
